Cheetah Flight Pad Quick Start Page

1. Ready to Go

Your Cheetah Flight Pad comes complete with all the software necessary preinstalled and is ready to use out-of-the-box. You will find your Velcro at the very bottom of the tablet box under the display!

2. Instructional information.

3. Automatic Update and Chart Password

For automatic database and chart updates your username and password have already been saved on the tablet. You should never be required to reenter this information when you perform your automatic updates (for the record though your username is your last name (first letter capitalized everything else lowercase) and password is 1234. The quick start video above shows how it works.

4. Windows Password

There may be a time when you want to make major changes to your Windows operating system and it may ask you for a username or password. If so, your username is cheetahgps and password cheetah (everything lowercase).

5. Power charger connection

The power charger connection is a micro USB connector. Look carefully at it when you plug it in, it only plugs in one way. If you rotate it 180° the wrong way you can break or bend the tab inside the tablet!

What you need to know for your optional Stratux ADS-B receiver with AHARS to work !

6a. There are two different screw in tube like antennas, when looking down at the top of box make sure the antenna says 1090 is on the upper left side and the other one that says 978 is on the lower left.

6b. If your ADS-B receiver has connected to the tablet successfully to TrueMap software on the main screen next to the GPS indicator you will see both GPS and  ADS-B in green. (see picture) if the indicators are in red Windows is most likely blocking the connection (see below).

6c. When you are on the ground you most likely will not receive ADS-B weather as it is tower based, but the ADS B hardware connection indicator will still remain green as shown in the picture. Once you are in flight after a few minutes the weather will start to come in.

When flying, simply press the enter key to scroll through the weather layers and the map key to scroll through the navigational layers. (see picture)

6d. The Stratux ADS-B receiver connects via Wi-Fi to your tablet. If the ADS-B indicator is in red it is being blocked by Windows security. You need to check 2 things.

6e. Disable Windows firewall. On the tablet click the start button and then select Control Panel. Next select Windows firewall and then turn Windows firewall on and off. Sometimes when you turn the tablet off and then back on again it resets this and enables firewall so it is always best before flight just quickly verify that the firewall is still off! (see 1st four pictures below).

You also want to verify that you are not currently connected to any other Wi-Fi connections.  You want to have the flight box connection check marked so it automatically connects. The tablet will still pick up other Wi-Fi connections as shown in the picture and as long as you are not actively connected to them it will not affect the operation (see 5th picture below).

7. Display Traffic

To display traffic, select the message key and then choose alert mode or on mode. Alert mode will only display the traffic screen when there is traffic within 6 miles and 600 feet of your altitude.

8. Verify that AHARS has been enabled.

To enable the AHARS press the NAV key and select System and Devices and select EGyro so that it is enabled then reboot the display. Once you have done this the setting is saved so you don't need to redo it in the future.

9. Display AHARS

You can either display AHARS via a Gyro by selecting the Nav key and then egyro in the menu, Or if you do nothing it will automatically be shown while you are displaying the highway in the sky 3-D view (this is found in the nap menu).
